Raya is a weighted manta ray plush that sits on your child's belly, rising and falling with every breath — teaching diaphragmatic breathing through gentle biofeedback, not instruction.

How it works
01
Your child lies back and places Raya on their lower belly — the same spot where diaphragmatic breathing happens naturally.
02
As your child inhales, Raya rises gently. A full, slow inhale lifts her just enough to see — a visible reward for breathing deeply.
03
A long exhale brings Raya back down. This activates the vagus nerve, slows the heart rate, and shifts the nervous system toward rest.
The science
Grounded in breathwork research from Andrew Huberman, Patrick McKeown, and vagus-nerve physiology.
Vagus nerve
Slow belly breathing triggers the Hering–Breuer reflex via pulmonary stretch receptors, lengthening exhalation and reducing fight-or-flight drive.
Biofeedback
Visible movement (Raya rising and falling) creates real-time proprioceptive feedback, anchoring attention to the body and away from anxious thought.
Co-regulation
The plush animal form activates attachment schemas in children, downshifting HPA-axis reactivity — the same mechanism that makes soft toys comforting.
Interoception
Directing awareness to the lower body trains interoceptive sensitivity — the ability to notice and respond to body sensations, a core emotional regulation skill.
For parents
Raya gives you a shared ritual for the hard moments — a tool that works without screens, medication, or power struggles. Just a breath, a weight, and a manta ray that rises.
